The USCIS has announced a significant update to streamline its appointment process.
The New Online Appointment Request Form As of August 21, 2023, the USCIS has rolled out a fresh online form aimed at making the process of requesting an in-person appointment at local field offices simpler and more efficient. Prior to this, individuals had to call the USCIS Contact Center to set up an in-person appointment, a process that was often time-consuming and, for some, daunting.
What Can You Use the Form For? The online appointment request form is specifically designed for requests related to:
- ADIT stamps
- Emergency Advance Parole
- Immigration Judge Grants …and other specific immigration matters.
However, it’s essential to note that this isn’t a self-scheduling tool. Individuals cannot independently set up their appointment slots with USCIS. Instead, once the form is submitted, the USCIS Contact Center will assess it in light of the appointment availability at the chosen field office.
While applicants have the option to propose a preferred date and time for the appointment, USCIS has made it clear that they cannot assure the proposed slot will be confirmed. However, they will make every effort to accommodate and will confirm a suitable date and time for an in-person appointment.
