Learn about Family-Based Green Card

Family immigration is one of the most common ways to secure permanent residency. At Puyang & Wu, LLC, we guide couples and families through every stage — from initial petitions to final green card approval.

Marriage-Based Green Cards

  • File Form I-130 to prove the marriage is genuine.
  • If in the U.S., apply for adjustment of status (I-485).
  • If abroad, complete consular processing through the National Visa Center and U.S. consulate.

Fiancé(e) Visas (K-1)

  • U.S. citizens can bring a fiancé(e) to the U.S. on a K-1 visa.
  • The couple must marry within 90 days of entry before filing for a green card.

Removing Conditions: Form I-751

  • Couples with a conditional (two-year) green card must file I-751 to secure permanent residency.
  • We help prepare filings with strong evidence and assist with waiver cases when needed.

Consular Processing / Immigrant Visa

  • For relatives abroad, we handle all steps with the National Visa Center (NVC).
  • We prepare you for consular interviews and help avoid common pitfalls.

Other Family Categories

  • Parents, children, and siblings of U.S. citizens may also qualify for green cards through the family preference system.
  • Adjustment of status and derivative applications allow spouses and children to apply alongside the primary applicant.
