Q: When is the registration period?

A: Registration starts at noon on March 9, 2021 and ends on noon eastern on March 25, 2021.

Q: Do I need an attorney to register for me?

A: No, company may register for its employees directly without the use of attorney. They should follow the instructions in the following link: https://www.uscis.gov/working-in-the-united-states/temporary-workers/h-1b-specialty-occupations-and-fashion-models/h-1b-electronic-registration-process

Q: What documents do you need?

A: If we are handling the registration process for your company, please provide the following to us by email. Company may have provided them last year but please provide again as information my change and it’s a good opportunity to confirm the information.

Company:

  • Legal name of the prospective petitioning company or organization
  • The Doing Business As names of the prospective petitioning company or organization, if applicable
  • Employer identification number (EIN) of the prospective petitioning company or organization
  • Primary U.S. office address of the prospective petitioning company or organization
  • Legal name, title, and contact information (daytime phone number and email address) of the authorized signatory

Beneficiary:

  • Beneficiary’s legal name
  • Beneficiary’s gender
  • Does the beneficiary have a master’s or higher degree from a U.S. institution of higher education such that the beneficiary is eligible for the advanced degree exemption under INA 214(g)(5)(C) and requesting consideration under the advanced degree exemption?
  • Beneficiary’s date of birth
  • Beneficiary’s country of birth
  • Beneficiary’s country of citizenship
  • Beneficiary’s passport number
  • Beneficiary’s Current address
  • Beneficiary’s current Phone number
  • Copy of Beneficiary’s passport biographic page
  • Copy of all of Beneficiary’s diplomas and transcripts.

Q: We want to prepare for registration. What should we do first so that we won’t miss the deadline?

A: The registration period runs from March 9 to March 25. There will be sufficient time to complete the registration. If you want to get a head start, please see below:

If company is handling the registration on its own, follow the instruction and video closely in the above link. If company is retaining our firm to handle the registration and has access to its USCIS account, please provide the requested items above.  If company is retaining our firm to handle the registration but has never registered in the past (and therefore does not have access to a USCIS account), please create a USCIS account first by following the screenshot below. Account creation begins on March 2, 2021. The goal here is to set up the user name and password for accessing to the account.

Q: I have mater’s cap. Does that mean I have to be registered twice in order to qualify for both the masters cap and the regular cap?

A: No, once registered, you be considered for the master cap exemption and regular cap.

Q: Can company register for me multiple times?

A: Company cannot register for you multiple times. No duplicates. Duplicates will invalidate your registration. However, a different, non related company may also register for you.

Q: When results will be announced?

A: After the end of March.
