USCIS announced on 09/28/2022 that applicants who have filed renewal of their GC via Form I-90 will receive a 24-month of extension of their current valid or expired Green Card. USCIS had previously provided a 12-month extension.
The language on Form I-90 receipt notices will indicate the validity of a green card for 24 months. USCIS will also send out amended receipt notices for those with a pending I-90. These receipt notices can be presented with an expired Green Card as evidence of continued status.
