USCIS Receipt Notice Update: Final Two I-485 Receipt Notices Received (4 months late)

Update April 2, 2021

We are now receiving EAD/AP approvals from I-485 EB applications filed in October. USCIS processing time for EAD and AP have also been updated recently to reflect the current processing timeframe. You may initiate service inquiry if EAD/AP is pending outside of the posted time frame.

Update March 18, 2021

We have now received a substantial number of Biometrics Appointment notices in connection with the I-485 EB applications filed in October 2020. We are still waiting for Biometrics for about 15% of the cases. We also have two cases where USCIS specifically waived their biometrics requirement which led to quick approval of one of the applicant’s EAD/AP. This was surprising since neither applicant had completed biometrics in the past. But soon after, biometric notices were issued and they completed them without issue.

It seems like USCIS may waive biometrics by accident but may later issue biometrics appointment notices.

Original Post March 1, 2021

We have as of today, March 1, 2021, received all receipt notices of I-485 applications (employment based) filed in October 2020. The final two (attorney’s copy) arrived today. Interestingly, one client’s copy did arrive much earlier in early February at their home address.
